Countdown: a Milt Kovak Police Procedural

When Sheriff Milt Kovak arrests Darrell Blanton for killing his wife, Darrell's mama, Eunice Blanton, storms the Longbranch Inn and takes Milt's wife, Jean McDonnell, Holly Humphries and others hostage. Unless Milt releases her boy, a hostage will be shot every ten minutes. But Darrell has been found dead in his cell, with not a mark on him.
