Beschreibung
In recent decades, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT1) have become increasingly accessible, leading to the democratization of these tools. This phenomenon has been made possible by the rapid evolution of technology and the increased availability of these devices (Castells, 1997-1998). In recent years, alongside increased access to ICT, other ways of creating information and content have emerged, giving rise to new spaces for exchange, production, and consumption (Castells, 2000). This new content is developed in environments characterized by a large number of subjects, media, and languages that are technologically interconnected (Scolari, 2008). These forms of communication have brought about changes in the way we relate to one another and understand society, influencing our lives and how we obtain information. Thus, these social and cultural dynamics in the so-called "age of communication" have enabled the emergence of new dimensions of analysis (Sunkel, Cultural Consumption in Communications Research, 2014).
