This study is a contribution to the sustainable management of the Amavénou Community Forest (FCA), located in the Amouzou Kopé canton in Togo. The objectives are: (i) to inventory the tree species used for cooking fuelwood; (ii) to identify preferences for and the availability of plants used as fuelwood; and (iii) to assess household fuelwood consumption and resource availability within the FCA. The analyses were based on data from semi-structured surveys conducted through individual interviews on firewood use, species-specific firewood weigh-ins within households, combined with field observations and forest inventories. A total of 37 firewood species were identified in households. The most popular species is Bridelia ferruginea, which is the most commonly found naturally. The most widely available species in the FCA is Delonix regia, an introduced species. Average firewood consumption per household is 14. 67 kg/day, or approximately 3. 12 kg/person/day. The available biovolume of wood reported by households is 62. 54m³/ha, or 1,375. 92m³ in the FCA, representing 71. 57% of the total biovolume (1,921. 85m³).
