Beschreibung
In the late fifteenth century, years after Yaksha Malla's death divided the Kathmandu Valley into the rival kingdoms of Bhaktapur, Patan, and Kathmandu, a humble weaver and scribe named Vikram uncovers a sealed prophecy in Bhaktapur's archives. It warns that discord will consume the mandala unless a weaver of fates intervenes. As an ambitious general plots forcible reunification, Vikram journeys south to recover a lost ritual element and forges an alliance with the noblewoman Saraswati, whose artistic insight complements his own. Blending authentic Newar court life, guthi traditions, and valley politics with an epic tale of prophecy and sacrifice, this novel explores an alternate path where human choice and interconnected patterns might reweave unity from historical fragmentation.
