Franz Liszt made many transcriptions of songs by other composers for solo piano as material for his own celebrated recitals. This edition of Liszt's Song Transcriptions by Emil Sauer contains transcriptions of songs by Schubert, Chopin, Beethoven, Schumann, Mendelssohn as well as Liszt himself.
