Beschreibung
What if you woke up one night and discovered you were a dinosaur. In Once I Was a Dinosaur. , a child drifts into a soft, dreamlike world where everything suddenly feels wonderfully different. Familiar hands and feet have changed, each step feels enormous, and a long dinosaur tail follows close behind. Rather than feeling frightened, the child explores this surprising transformation with curiosity, delight, and a growing sense of wonder. As the night unfolds, each new discovery reveals another clue about what the child has become. Giant feet, unusual movements, and the feeling of being much bigger than before turn an ordinary bedtime into a magical adventure. The story gently captures the way children use imagination to understand the world, transforming simple observations into something extraordinary. Filled with charming full-color illustrations and a calm, soothing rhythm, this picture book creates a peaceful reading experience for children and caregivers alike. The expressive artwork carries much of the storytelling, inviting young readers to notice small details, follow the transformation, and imagine what it might feel like to wake up as a dinosaur themselves. Although the adventure feels exciting and mysterious, the story remains comforting from beginning to end. There is no danger, fear, or noisy chaos, only discovery, imagination, and the quiet magic of a dream. When the journey is over, the child returns safely to the warmth and comfort of bed, leaving readers with a gentle sense of possibility as they prepare to sleep. Perfect for children ages 3-6, dinosaur lovers, bedtime reading, classroom story time, and families looking for a calming picture book that encourages curiosity, imaginative play, and sweet dreams.
