So the 9th edition is here (with 100 more pages). With all of these editions, one could look at this book as a journal which is periodically updated, so the cost is more like a subscription fee. So if you have a previous edition and you approve of the approach I am taking, then you definitely want this edition. If you have never read "The Electromagnetic Universe", then you only need the 9th edition as all previous work is included in it. The number of discoveries in this series is already large, so where does one go from here. I believe the 9th to be the last edition, but one never knows. For example, let's say that tomorrow I discover the cause of quantized charge. For sure there would be a 10th edition. Points of interest in this edition: 1. I prove that EVERY stationary field can propagate coherently at a speed less than light. 2. Electromagnetism in relation to matter is discussed more in this edition because I wanted to point out how matter affects the scalar field. 3. The scalar field of a moving charge has been corrected in the sense that it does in fact relate directly to the longitudinal electric field even where the divergence is zero. This reveals its role in the propagation of the charge field. 4. I solve problems related to a finite length of line charge and the analogous current in a finite segment of current. This relates to the electric field, the magnetic field and the scalar field. The correlations in this particular scenario are of some significance. 5. More has been done in relation to units. 6. I deal more with conductors, current and voltage where before they were assumed. 7. I have a much better discussion of electromotive force. 8. I deal directly with mutual inductance (which has not been done previously) and show its interesting correlation with interaction/potential energy. 9. I have quantified (at least as a general principle) the requirements of internal refraction. This is related to the acceleration of charge fields. 10. I have expanded the analysis of the scalar electric field. 11. I discuss reflection and refraction much more thoroughly than previous editions. 12. There has been an outstanding problem on how the scalar field relates to the fourth field equation (magnetic curl equation). It has constantly caused problems with the sign of the field. In order to solve this problem, it required the introduction of a new potential. So yes, it's another discovery.
