Beschreibung
The Girl Beneath the Moon is a deeply moving collection of poetry that explores what it means to survive, to heal, and to become the person you were always meant to be. Through intimate, free-verse poems, Courtney Bailey reflects on childhood trauma, grief, anxiety, motherhood, marriage, self-discovery, and the quiet courage it takes to keep moving forward. Divided into thoughtfully crafted sections, the collection follows the journey of a little girl who learned survival too early, a daughter navigating loss, a woman rebuilding after heartbreak, and a mother determined to create a different future for her children. Rather than offering easy answers, these poems embrace the reality that healing is rarely linear. They speak honestly about intrusive thoughts, generational wounds, forgiveness, love that endures through hardship, and the slow process of reclaiming one's voice. Throughout the collection, the moon serves as a powerful symbol of change, reminding readers that even in life's darkest seasons, growth continues and wholeness remains possible. Written with vulnerability, compassion, and hope, The Girl Beneath the Moon offers comfort to anyone who has carried invisible burdens, questioned their worth, mourned what was lost, or searched for home within themselves. Each poem is an invitation to pause, reflect, and recognize that healing is not about becoming someone new it is about returning to the person who has been there all along. For readers of contemporary poetry centered on resilience, mental health, motherhood, grief, and personal transformation, The Girl Beneath the Moon is a heartfelt reminder that every season of life even the unfinished ones holds the possibility of hope, healing, and becoming.
