Beschreibung
The Ten Eyck Stories describe the sordid trajectory of a litter of abandoned kittens as they pass from hand to hand in defiance of New York's brutal privatized animal control bureaucracy, the Animal Control Unit. The six intersecting narratives join into a bleak tapestry where life huddles in the margins of the burgeoning ACU empire-these aren't your granddaddy's dogcatchers. The book features a cast of heroes, villains, mooks, goons, thugs, sluts, squatters, entrepreneurs, harridans, degenerates, wastrels, hustlers big and small, not to mention snitches, toadies, hacks, drunks, cokeheads, Mayflower descendants, feral dogs and more than a few fish.
