Who's Afraid Of Stardust?

Deutsch. Gemeinsam mit dem Kunsthaus zeigt die Kunsthalle Nürnberg die internationale Gruppenausstellung "Who’s Afraid Of Stardust. Positionen queerer Gegenwartskunst". Die Ausstellung präsentiert Werke, die um Leben und Begehren jenseits der Heteronormativität kreisen und einen substanziellen Beitrag zur aktuellen Debatte über Diversität leisten. Zur Ausstellung erscheint ein umfangreiches Magazin im Verlag für moderne Kunst. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die an der Ausstellung beteiligten Künstlerinnen. Zugleich ist das Magazin auch eine Fundgrube für alle Leserinnen, für die Queerness noch Neuland ist: Das Magazin enthält neben einem Glossar, das zentrale Begriffe erläutert, auch Interviews mit Wissenschaftlerinnen der Gender und Queer Studies, Texte über queere Pop- und Filmgeschichte, Ballroom Culture, queere Mode, die Geschichte der Prides in Deutschland sowie die Entwicklung des § 175. Literarische und gesellschaftspolitische Texte u. a von Hengameh Yaghoobifarah, Daniel Schreiber und Benno Gammerl ergänzen den multiperspektivischen Blick auf queere Kultur. Englisch. The Kunsthaus and Kunsthalle Nürnberg are collaborating to present the international group exhibition ‘Who’s Afraid of Stardust. Positions of Contemporary Queer Art’. The exhibition features works by 30 artists who address aspects of queer life and so make substantial contributions to the current debate on diversity with their individual perspectives on societal power structures. The focus of this comprehensive magazine is on the artists participating in the exhibition, but at the same time, the magazine provides a treasure trove for all readers for whom queerness is still new territory. In addition to a glossary explaining key terms, the magazine also contains interviews with scholars of gender and queer studies, texts on queer pop and film history, ballroom culture, queer fashion, the history of Prides in Germany and the development of § 175. Literary and socio-political texts by Hengameh Yaghoobifarah, Daniel Schreiber and Benno Gammerl, among others, complement this multi-perspective view of queer culture.
