York Independents

Outside the city and into the Vale of York, bus operators were needed to link local villages and towns with York. They carried shoppers and commuters into the city. However, changes to the way of life in the 1950s and 1960s, led to the demise of many operators. This book, containing over 150 photographs, tells the story of stage bus companies.
