ZEEKA AND THE ZOMBIES II, a gripping sci-fi horror novel, was adapted into a four-series screenplay and was selected as a finalist in the 13Horror-com Film & Screenplay Contest 2025. The futuristic sci-fi horror thriller written by Trinidadian Brenda Mohammed, who has published 68 books to date, was selected among the top 25% of entries. The feature-length screenplay based on this novel was praised by judges for its genre-defying fusion of futuristic sci-fi, Caribbean folklore, and dark fantasy, set in a vividly imagined 2036 Caribbean Island. Andrew Hannon, the Contest Director and one of the Hollywood judges, commended the screenplay for its complex narrative, emotional depth, and cinematic horror, highlighting standout moments such as the Carnival massacre, the twist involving Chief of Police Bill Grady, and the poignant revelation of Zeeka's hidden humanity. A psychotic cop, who has adopted the alias MASTER ZEEKA, unleashes a horde of zombies upon a Caribbean paradise amidst its carnival festivities. It's up to two long-separated brothers, with a surprising connection to the cop, to save the day. The sci-fi horror novel is loaded with several twisty thrills and intriguing revelations. The brothers Dr. Raynor Sharpe and Dr. Steven Sharpe, a malicious zombie horde, two detectives, and Master Zeeka, who created the zombies, are the main characters of the novel. Number Nine, the zombie who discovered he was not a zombie, but just struggling with a strange illness, is cured by Dr. Steven Sharpe with a Miracle Machine he invented. Readers of Caribbean sci-fi horror and zombie fiction will love this story.
