Autor/-in: Constance Boyce-Molony

Constance Boyce-Molony grew up in County Clare on the western coast of Ireland, in a household where history was treated as a living conversation rather than a settled record. She came to the study of American slavery through a long engagement with the history of dispossession and resistance in her own tradition, and found in the story of Nat Turner a figure whose theological seriousness, strategic intelligence, and absolute moral conviction demanded the full resources of narrative nonfiction to do justice to. She writes at the intersection of American racial history, religious thought, and political biography, driven by the conviction that the darkest chapters of the past are precisely the ones that deserve the most careful and most honest telling. She lives between Ireland and the American South.
