Equity and Fairness in Islam

This is the first work in English to deal specifically with equity and fairness in Islamic law. The author relates these concepts back to the Islamic notion of "istihsan", then details the origins, nature and different legal perspectives on "istihsan" and provides a definition of it with examples of its applications such as Islamic banking.
