In this interpretive framework, Paul's use of righteousness language becomes both intelligible and distinctive. It participates in established messianic patterns yet redefines them through an eschatological realization bestowed upon the followers of the messiah. This righteousness is expressed through confession, baptismal practice, and the reception of pneuma.
