Beschreibung
The Sogang Korean Writing Book 1B expands the writing sections, which were previously one page per unit in the Sogang Korean New Series Student’s Book 1B, into a 50-session curriculum. The Sogang Korean Revised 3rd Edition 1B is structured to accommodate a 200-hour regular Level 1 course, with 100 hours for speaking, 25 hours each for reading and speaking, and listening and speaking, and 50 hours for writing. The Sogang Korean Writing Book 1A/1B stands out from other writing textbooks by emphasizing speaking interaction as a precursor to writing. This teaching methodology, rooted in the Sogang pedagogical philosophy, values the process of learning through interaction between learners as much as the written outcomes. Through peer interaction during writing activities, learners can correct and review pronunciation of words and sentences. From an instructor’s perspective, pair or group activities make it easier to monitor large classes and reduce skill level gaps among students through peer correction, enabling more efficient feedback. While primarily designed for practice with peers or instructors, the Writing Book also includes features to accommodate self-learners. Key Features of Sogang Korean Writing Book 1A/1B: Color Design: Tailored to beginner learners who rely heavily on visual information such as photos and illustrations, the book is published in color. Diverse Text Types and Activities: The text types and activities from previous writing books were analyzed and expanded to include a wider variety. Vocabulary and Translations: Additional vocabulary and English translations not included in the Sogang Korean Student’s Book 1A1B are provided at the bottom of the pages. Integrated Dictation Activities: Dictation activities, originally designed for pair work in the classroom, can also be accessed independently through QR codes linked to MP3 files. Answer Key: The appendix includes answers. For open-ended questions, example sentences and writings are provided. This book aims to make writing more enjoyable for Korean language learners and to provide instructors with a resource that allows for efficient feedback and effective teaching.
