Before Rama. Before Lanka burned. There was the story the victors erased. Every epic is written by the winners. Tripurari. goes beneath the familiar Ramayana to recover what was buried: Pratyangira. , the forgotten goddess of Lanka; Ravana. not as a demon but as a polymath scholar-king and devotee of Shiva; and a civilization slandered and burned to justify its conquest. Drawing on the Jain, Tamil, and Bengali retellings the mainstream tradition left behind, Amit Ghosh reconstructs a suppressed history - the making and unmaking of the three cities of Tripura, the true lineage of Lanka, and the fierce mother-goddess and her devoted son whose memory was systematically erased. Inside, you will discover:. Pratyangira - the hidden goddess of Lanka, and why the epic buried her. Ravana reconsidered: scholar, musician, Shiva-bhakta, king. The Jain, Tamil, and Bengali Ramayanas that tell a different truth. Tripura, Tripurari, and the theology of conquest. The lost voices and darker questions history left unanswered. Not just a myth. Not just a god. A contested history older than memory.
